Book Marketing Internship — Spring/Summer 2026

the future of agency (tfoa) is looking for a creative, detail-oriented book marketing intern to join us for a part-time, 12-week internship with the option to extend. This role will work with the Senior Marketing Director and Campaign Managers on company-wide initiatives and projects, with a deep focus on marketing and media research and drafting pitch materials, among other responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Research and update influencer, organization, and other contact mailing lists

  • Update and organize CRM (customer relationship management) records

  • Write and create materials for marketing campaigns, including pitch letters, social media graphics, PowerPoint or Canva decks, etc.

  • Create audience insights, social listening, SEO, and metadata reports for campaigns and projects, with support and training from Campaign Managers

  • Update Goodreads and Bookbub for clients to optimize discoverability of their books

  • Work with Founder and Campaign Managers to develop workflows, team documents, best practice guides, and campaign templates

  • Manage new client onboarding tasks, such as client folder setup and updating project grids

  • Add tasks to Asana (project management software) according to project timelines

  • Communicate project statuses regularly with team members via Slack or Asana

Who You Are:

  • A lifelong learner looking to expand your knowledge base of marketing, social media, and other creative skill sets

  • A team player with excellent communication skills

  • Passionate about books, marketing, digital content, and/or social media 

  • Highly organized with great attention to detail, spelling, grammar, etc.

  • Comfortable taking ownership of your work

  • Reliable, responsive, and efficient

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university program, or a recent graduate within the past year

  • Interns must be 18 years of age or older

  • Interns must be present in the United States for the duration of employment and must be eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Familiarity with Asana, Slack, Google Drive, Hubspot, and/or various social media scheduling tools is a plus, but not required

  • Prior internship experience in publishing, marketing, or advertising is a plus 

  • Knowledge of the reading community and passion for books is a plus

Commitment & Details:

  • 15 hours per week, with the ability to work a flexible schedule within tfoa’s core working hours (10-5 ET, M-F)

  • 12-week commitment, with a flexible start date (targeting late-April) and the option to extend beyond 12 weeks

  • Compensation is $17/hour

  • This position is fully remote—candidates must provide their own computer and reliable internet access.
